About Me

I am a New Jersey state licensed psychotherapist specializing in individual, couples and family psychotherapy.  I have 25 years of experience as a clinician, the majority of which has been devoted to a full-time private practice in Ridgewood, New Jersey.  My primary areas of expertise are the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders, marital and family relationship issues and child custody evaluations.

In addition to a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a Graduate degree from Columbia University's School of Social Work, I have completed extensive post-graduate training at the Ackerman Institute for the Family and the Beck Institute for Cognitive Therapy and Research.  On the basis of a peer review of my work and my formal training, I earned prestigious certification from the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.

My treatment approach is to provide the tools, support and practical feedback to help clients resolve current problems and long-standing patterns. I incorporate a blend of cognitive, behavioral and family system approaches, drawing upon a variety of styles and techniques that targets the specific needs of each client. Since therapy at its best is a collaboration between therapist and client, my approach incorporates ongoing feedback from my client about what is most helpful.  The process unfolds in a compassionate and honest environment so that clients can safely examine and challenge themselves as they grow.
